Our Vision

blue.png

Shanda has a unique vision for All Ages Music School, as a result of her decades of private and small group teaching experience. She’s taught in most of the environments offered in the area: in home, in a music store, a rock school, public school, University, classes at Montessori and Self-Directed schools, as well as a homeschool co-op, and homeschool classes in a program she founded in 2017. She’s taken all of these teaching experiences, as well as experience as the admin at another music school, her Music Education studies/Music Business degree, and advice and guidance from some other amazing, experienced teachers in the area, to create a vision like no other! At All Ages, we have a goal of providing a well-rounded music education, strong foundation, and fostering the skills essential for ‘functional musicianship’. Our students will have the knowledge and skills to be able to be a part of any kind of ensemble in any genre that they can imagine!

Our in-house Recital Room/Rehearsal Space will, over time, provide performance opportunities for students of all ages, multiple times per year.

Some classes are active now, some will be in sessions, seasonally, or year-round, and we’ve staffed a pretty awesome group! All Ages offers private lessons on winds, orchestral strings, voice, guitar, bass, ukulele, piano, drums, and whatever else comes our way! We’ve invested in a beautiful, top of the line Yamaha piano classroom setup where students of all ages can learn in a fun, group environment. The teacher is able to instruct the group as a whole, individually, and in duets and other small groups. The headsets will allow students of all learning styles and needs to control their headset placement and focus in on the teacher and their own individual and group practice. These classes provide instruction to all students, young and old! We offer teen and adult only classes, along with the younger ages, as enrollment dictates, as well as daytime lessons and classes to homeschoolers and adults/retirees/those with alternate school and work schedules, etc.

A sampling of the class offerings we have (and plan to) roll out include: Musical Foundations, Wind, String, and Voice Chamber Ensembles (Summer Sectionals and Summer Songbirds for summer), Intro to Ukulele, Ukulele for Guitar Players, Beginning Guitar Techniques, Jazz Combo/Improv for pitched instruments (making it's debut for Summer 2026) Songwriting, Ready to Rock- Rock Band Classes, Bluegrass jam, Bucket Drumming, Various piano classes, Homeschool hands-on classes, and Intro to Music classes trying a variety of instruments.
