Current class participants range in age from 6-10. Don 't worry if you aren't available on Tuesdays, as there are some other options available to you!

Class Description:

​

Hands-on Instrumental Music Classes:

These classes are meant to be fun, but were also created with actual learning in mind! The classes are taught by and were created by All Ages Owner & Creator, Shanda Fordyce, in 2017 and have been put into practice since then. The skills that students learn in these classes compile throughout the weeks and years and apply directly to any musical endeavor they would choose to go on in the future (or are on now!). Students will learn about tempo, rhythm, how to 'find the beat', note reading, playing with a group, etc. There will be bits of music history, theory, and more sprinkled in throughout the weeks.

 

There will be 2 age groups. As with many homeschool activities, the split between the 'younger' and 'older' class varies by year and is based on several factors, including the specific families and students involved, number of students registered, ages of students registered, etc. Traditionally, the younger class would be ages 4/5 through 2nd or 3rd grade and the older kids class could be 3rd or 4th grade and up. If there is enough interest and a wide enough age spread, we can add a 3rd class of older middler schoolers/high schoolers, or make that a preschool class if there is a large amount of preschoolers.​

 

Each year, this homeschool program is completely based on the families that we have and their interests. We have done a recorder class, a boomwhacker unit, duos and trios on instruments that students are taking private lessons on, etc. We want to hear all of the things that you are interested in!

The current class takes place on Tuesdays at 1:30.

Must commit to the full semester, as the class numbers are a huge part of the planning for these classes.

Fall semester dates:

9/9, 9/16, 9/23, 9/30, 10/7, 10/14, 10/21, 10/28, 11/4, 11/11, 11/18, 11/25, 12/2, 12/9, 12/16 (12/23 make-up if there is a teacher cancellation)

Spring semester dates:

1/6, 1/13, 1/20, 1/27, 2/3, 2/10, 2/17, 2/24, 3/3, 3/10 (no class 3/17-Spring Break), 3/24, 3/31, 4/7, 4/14, 4/21 (4/28 make-up if there is a teacher cancellation)

Cost per student, per semester is $290 lump sum or 4 monthly payments of $75. Minimum commitment is one semester. If paying for both semesters up front, cost is $550. This is special pricing for these homeschool classes only, therefore we cannot add additional discounts for siblings, etc.

Other daytime options available at All Ages Music School with standard pricing- teacher availability varies, so we reach out individually to schedule:

-Private lessons on most instruments. 30 min lessons run $160/mo
