The Heartland Songwriters Workshop is designed for beginners looking to dive into songwriting with a supportive, hands-on approach. Each 60-minute class covers both the craft and business of songwriting, with weekly lessons that will guide you through writing your first song while also teaching the tools and knowledge needed to navigate the music industry.
Over 6 weeks, you’ll explore the foundational elements of songwriting—song structure, melody, rhythm, and lyrics—while also learning key aspects of the music business, such as royalties, publishing, demos, and pitching. Each session features interactive workshops, group discussions, and hands-on exercises, allowing you to work through the challenges of songwriting in a small, supportive environment. You’ll leave the workshop with a finished, demoed song and a concrete plan to continue growing as a songwriter.
